Urge Governor Hochul to Veto the RAISE Act!

Introduction

Background

Earlier this year, the New York State Legislature passed A6453, or the RAISE Act (Responsible AI Safety and Education Act). If signed, this bill could stifle innovation and seriously uproot the AI startup ecosystem across New York. 

How does the bill stifle innovation? 

• By demanding misguided pre-deployment requirements
• By introducing a new and expensive audit specialty
• By imposing vague standards that contribute to legal uncertainty and compliance risk
• By implementing inconsistent standards across sectors

So where is the bill now?

The bill now awaits delivery to Governor Hochul, who has 30 days to sign or veto it once it is on her desk.
